What happens when fate throws together a woman who doesn’t believe in love…

and a man who’s never known it?

After being jilted and publicly shamed, Nicolette Twistleton has no use for Society—or its opinion. Her reputation in tatters, she embraces the title of “Spiteful Spinster” with bold defiance. Trusting another man is unthinkable. Yet there is something about the enigmatic Duke of Westfall that stirs her guarded heart. Infuriatingly handsome and far too perceptive, Mathias Pembroke tempts her with the possibility of something she’s sworn to never risk again.

Mathias never asked to be a duke—and he certainly doesn’t welcome the attention his title brings. Haunted by secrets and determined to keep his past buried, he avoids attachments at all costs. But Nicolette captivates him. Her sharp tongue and wounded soul speak to something deep within him, something he’s not sure he deserves. He wants to protect her, to offer her more—but only if she’ll let him in.

When long-buried secrets and lingering scandals resurface, the fragile trust between them is put to the ultimate test. With their reputations, futures, and hearts on the line, Nicolette and Mathias must decide: will they continue hiding behind fear, or take the greatest risk of all—love?

Never Dance With a Duke is book seven in the Seductive Scoundrels series by Collette Cameron. O la! This book is a delight to the senses. Breathtaking, toe-curling romance at its finest. Nicolette Twistleton first appeared in book three, “A December with a Duke” as a fun but naughty friend. I was so happy to get to read her story. Her brother is my all-time favorite romance hero Ansley, The Earl of Scarborough from “The Wicked Earl’s Club” book 21 by Cameron. Although “Never Dance with A Duke” is a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading all of Cameron’s books. The world she creates is a lovely one filled with heart-thumping romance and laugh out loud humor. In my opinion, “Never Dance with A Duke” is another excellent read. I loved Nicolette’s wit, and sauciness, and the hero Matthias’ smoldering eyes. “…at this moment, my darling, there is nothing I long for more than to kiss you.” He brought his mouth close to her ear. “To taste your sweet lips and explore your honeyed mouth with my tongue. To start.” Cameron’s stories just get better and better.
