She hides a secret that could ruin her... He's the one man who might uncover it...

He's the last man she should desire...

Lord Ronan Brockman thrives on freedom, reveling in his reputation as a devil-may-care rogue. Handsome, wealthy, and utterly unrepentant, he's spent years avoiding responsibility. But when guardianship of two orphaned girls is thrust upon him, his carefully constructed world begins to crumble. Tasked with hiring a governess, Ronan never expects to be captivated by Mercy Feathers-a woman whose quick wit, fierce independence, and breathtaking beauty challenge everything he thought he wanted. Pursuing her would be scandalous. Resisting her may be impossible.

She's the last woman he should pursue...

Mercy Feathers has spent her life surviving on wit and grit, carving out a future despite her humble beginnings. As governess to Ronan's wards, she's determined to stay professional-even as the infuriatingly charming lord tests her resolve. His flirtations are reckless, his charm irresistible, and his piercing gaze far too knowing. But Mercy carries secrets that would destroy any chance of a future with a man like Ronan. She cannot afford to dream of love, especially not with a man who could never offer her forever.

When desire defies society, can love overcome the odds?

As Ronan and Mercy find themselves drawn into a whirlwind of longing and secrets, they must navigate a world intent on keeping them apart. With their hearts on the line and Mercy's past threatening to destroy everything, only trust-and an unshakable love-can lead them to the happiness they both crave.

No Lady for the Lord is book two in the Daughters of Desire Scandalous Ladies series by Collette Cameron. This book is a lovely, sweet romance and a quick read. I enjoyed Mercy Feathers’ character. She is gentle and yet firm when she needs to be. I usually don’t like children in romance stories, but governess Mercy’s charges – Bellamy and Arabelle are adorable. They don’t steal the show; they only enhance it. Lord Ronan Brockman is an interesting hero. He tends to speak bluntly and can cause offense quickly, but his heart is golden. I think I enjoyed this book even more than the first one in this series.
