A Viscount in Love by Emma Evans is part of her Lords of London series. In this book, Lord Stephen Larchmont returns to London to pursue a woman he once loved only to discover that she is already betrothed. In a desperate attempt to woo the lady, Stephen turns to her younger sister Grace and arranges a fake engagement so he can be near the older sister. Grace is angry at first but agrees. Eventually, Stephen sees the truth about the older sister and how awful she is to Grace and others. I enjoyed this book. I did struggle to actually like the hero Stephen. His selfish desire to just use Grace is despicable. As his eyes are opened and he begins to see Grace as the true woman of character, he realizes he has to do some damage control. But can he? Is it too late to actually woo the woman he realizes he loves?

I enjoyed this enemies to friends love story. Evans is a master at adding depth to her characters. A Viscount in Love is a clean romance. I read this in one afternoon. I will say that I hated the cover. The man on the front just isn’t particularly appealing and reminds me of one of my science teachers growing up. But I have enjoyed all the books in this Lords of London series. I am looking forward to reading more.
