Moonlight Encounter is the delightful second book in the Inconvenient Scandals series of steamy Regency suspense romance books. If you like worthy heroes, strong heroines, fast-paced plots, and enduring connections, then you’ll adore Nina Jarrett’s charming novel. Can be read as a standalone book.
Moonlight Encounter is book seven in the Inconvenient Scandals series. I adored this book. When Gwen Abbott wanders outside during a ball to gaze up at the moon, she encounters a handsome stranger. Their magical interlude leads to a scandal that changes both of their lives. Forced to marry a stranger, Gwen decides to try to make the best of the situation. Can they find true happiness? This book picks up right where the previous book “Long Live The Baron” ends. I think this book is very well written. The characters are so relatable. I really identified with Gwen Smythe; her experience being bullied in school and the lasting impact it had felt very familiar. Gwen doesn’t see herself in truth and her tainted self image affects her relationships. I thought the hero, Lord Aidan Abbott, was dreamy and swoonworthy. There are a number of steamy scenes. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
