Educated by the Earl is book two in the Miss Primm’s Secret School for Budding Bluestockings series. I enjoyed this book. I thought the pace slowed a bit in the middle but quickly picked up steam. I liked Victoria Shipley’s character. Anders does an excellent job of portraying an 1830’s woman, subjected to the constraints of her time. For those who didn’t marry, their life was dependent upon their relatives or their wits. Victoria had become a teacher after her engagement was called off. She first appears in a book called The Perfect Spinster  and it is a delightful story. In the beginning,  I didn’t like the hero very much – The Earl of Rosewood – Piers is a completely self-centered man. But Anders does a great job of peeling back the layers of her characters and giving them depth. Because of the slow pace in the middle and the fact that I didn’t really like the hero, I am giving this a four flower rating. “His breath was hers. And his taste, a potion that weakened all her defenses. Dizziness consumed her.” I also love the cover of Ms. Anders books. This cover is an absolutely beautiful work of art by Forever After Romance Designs. Bravo!
