His new governess is everything he shouldn’t desire…

The Marquess of Chiltern knows he can never love again. After his wife’s death, he dedicated his heart to his daughter. Now little Annabelle needs a governess, and Miss Julia Mallory needs a respectable income. It all seems so easy…until her dark eyes set him alight with forbidden longing.

Julia has a secret which could ruin her chances of an ordinary life. If the Marquess discovers her true background, she’ll be out on the streets without a reference. She has lived under the shadow of illegitimacy since she was a child, and nothing will make her give up her chance to escape it.

If only the past could stay in the past. When history comes to haunt them, is their fledgling love strong enough to fight for the future they deserve?

Make Me A Marchioness is book four in the Redeeming the Rakes Series by Gemma Blackwood.  When Miss Julia Mallory is hired by the Marquis of Chiltern, Charles Harding to be governess to his young daughter Annabelle, Julia has no idea that her heart is about to be conquered by the dark handsome Marquis. Do they have a chance for happiness being from different social spheres? And what will happen if the Marquis discovers Julia’s dark secret?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Ms. Blackwood spins a wonderful tale weaving excitement, romance and treachery all in one delightful fabric.

“What emotion lay behind that rose-lipped and wide-eyed expression – fear, perhaps? Gratitude? He chided himself for wasting so much of their journey in silence. Despite the ever-present guilt, Julia was a mystery he wanted to uncover.”

In each of Ms Blackwood’s books, she always has a dash of mystery and intrigue mixed into her romance. She didn’t fail with this endeavor. I highly recommend this book. It is a sweet and clean romance.
