The Heart of a Scoundrel is book 6 in The Heart of the Duke series. Although these books can be read as stand-alone stories, they are much richer to read in order. The characters are often entwined. In this book, Caldwell takes a wretched villain and transforms him into a hero. I thought this work was masterfully written and very believable. There are some very steamy scenes in it. However, they flow with the story line. The beginning was a bit confusing for me, but once I got past chapter 4 the story began to flow.
“Then a gentleman of his stunning beauty knew the risk faced of being discovered, unchaperoned with a lady. He had the face and form that hinted at a masculine perfection that made a lady do foolish things.such as forgetting she was alone. With a gentleman. In a garden. Under the moonlight.”
Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
