The Madam’s Highlander is book two in the Highland Passions series by Madeline Martin. Ms. Martin is one of my favorite authors. In this story, Freya Campbell is a beautiful woman who runs a bawdy house in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is the sole provider for her family. The day she meets Ewan Fraser her life is turned upside down. He needs her help and Freya consents. Ewan is the Captain of the Black Watch and carries dark secrets. What happens when Ewan and Freya must run for their lives?

I enjoyed this book by Madeline. The pace was brisk and the plot kept me guessing. I think I read it in almost one sitting. Martin is a master writer. I have read every book and haven’t been disappointed yet. I highly recommend anything by this author.
