Has the reluctant wallflower…
finally met her match?
When impoverished vicar’s daughter Eliza Hasterling helps an elderly viscount after he falls at a ball, his son Lord Giles Stratham is suspicious that she’s out to wed his widowed father! This Season might be Eliza’s last chance to find a husband and have the family she longs for, but she’s no fortune-hunter! In fact, it’s the brusque but handsome Giles who sets her heart racing—but is that any basis for a good match?
The Wallflower’s Last Chance Season is book two in the Least Likely to Wed series by Julia Justiss. I think I fell in love with the characters in this book. This author did a masterful job of developing them. Lord Giles Stratham has been in a tortured “love” relationship for years, strung along by a beautiful widow who enjoys being the center of his life. But when he meets Eliza Hasterling, the innocent and vibrant daughter of a vicar, his world is turned upside down. I enjoyed hating the villain Lady Evans. She is beautiful, coldly calculating and devastatingly clever. I really enjoyed the progression of the story. Though it was a little long, the pace was great. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
