To Defy A Highland Duke is book six in The Heart of a Scot series by Collette Cameron. Although this book is a stand-alone, I think it is a much richer experience to read it in the order of the series. I enjoyed this story. The heroine Marjorie Kennedy is a gentle, loving soul who has experienced profound loss. She does her best to stay in the background and to love her small girls. But Laird Keane Buchannan notices her red curls right away and feels instantly drawn to her. But their relationship starts off rocky. Can love blossom between the two? Cameron has outdone herself with this book. She crafts each character carefully, giving them depth and vulnerability. I can’t wait to read more.
