No one valued her… until she healed his soul, and he couldn’t let her go
Baron Liam Mackay buried his heart beneath layers of grief and duty. After losing everyone he ever loved, he’s built a fortress of emotional indifference, devoting himself to restoring his feudal barony and avoiding entanglements—especially with marriage-minded women. But when he pulls a mysterious beauty from a river’s raging waters, everything he thought he wanted starts unraveling.
Emeline LeClaire never expected to be the target of assassins—especially as an illegitimate orphan with no fortune or title. When a brooding Highland warrior risks his life to save hers, she wonders if fate may have plans for her yet. Strong, silent, and fiercely protective, Liam awakens hope in her heart… and a longing to heal the pain she sees hidden behind his brooding gaze.
But when a flash flood leaves Liam and Emeline stranded in an abandoned hunting cottage, neither can escape the potent passion building between them. They’ve learned to survive by erecting barriers around their hearts, but as longing and vulnerability creep in, those walls crumble. But the danger that forced them together is still just as deadly.
Both have lost almost everything. Will trusting each other cost them the little they have left?

To Woo A Highland Warrior is book four in the Heart of a Scot Series by Collette Cameron. I adored this book! Cameron weaves danger, intrigue and romance all into one splendid tale. I think I fell in love with the braw Scottish hero Liam MacKay. Liam appears in the previous books in this series, so I was thrilled to finally get to read his story. It absolutely sizzles! The heroine is Emeline LeClaire. She is also a secondary character in a previous book. I really liked Emeline’s gentle personality. The sexual tension between Liam and Emeline is so thick that I found I couldn’t put the book down. I read it in one afternoon. “When he smiled…Lord help her. It was as if the sun dropped from the heavens and lit the room. He transformed from wildly rugged to downright beautiful. It was all she could do not to gawk like a green schoolgirl.” I can’t wait for more.
