Lord Brandon Morrisette is the third son of a marquess who has decided to flout social norms and become a doctor in London. He meets the heroine Joy Shephard Winterbourne when he treats her employer a persnickety older woman, Mrs. Thackpenny – who just wants attention. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. The storyline is very creative. Usually, in Regency settings, the hero is someone of rank like a Duke or Earl. Joy is someone on society’s boundary. Joy is a loving and kind person, but she harbors a secret. Will she find true love, or will she be rejected once her secret is known? A Lady’s Scandalous Kiss is a sweet holiday romance and a delight to read.
