Rescuing The Lady is a sweet, clean Regency adventure-romance full of heart, humour, and a heroine who refuses to go quietly. Perfect for fans of Georgette Heyer and Julia Quinn.
I’m torn about how to rate this book. Most of it reads like a report and not a narrative. The story line is quite far-fetched and melodramatic. I’m reminded of an old black and white silent movie, where the heroine is kidnapped by the dastardly villain and carried off. I did like the heroine Eloise. She’s young, vivacious and intelligent. This is a sweet romance. Overall just not my cup of tea.
