Lady Claire Cavensham is engaged to be married for the fourth time when disaster  or bad luck once again strikes. Her fiance cries off leaving her high and dry and once again the laughing stock of the London ton. When Alexander Hallworth, Marquess of Pembrooke offers to rescue her, Claire wonders if her luck has changed or if the curse that stalks her will finally destroy her.
