No longer in the first blush of youth and without a marriage portion, Miss Constance Woodley can scarcely imagine why one of the leading lights of London society should take an interest in the likes of her. But under her benefactor's guiding hand, she's transformed into a captivating creature who catches the eye of the handsome, charming, and ever-so-slightly notorious Lord Dominic Leighton.

And before the shocked eyes of the entire ton, the "nobody" and the rakish viscount show

I have read a number of Camp’s books and I think this one is my new favorite. Constance Woodley is a spinster caring for her younger cousins and stuck in life’s drudgery. When a shining star of the ton Lady Francesca Haughston takes Constance under her wing like a fairy godmother, Constance is at a loss as to why she has garnered the attention. But Haughston has made a wager with a very handsome Duke that she can find a match for Miss Woodley before the first season ends. And so the chase begins… This is a fantastic book. I felt like the topic was engaging with an almost My Fair Lady type of flair. I couldn’t put it down.
