How does a woman in need of a hero and a spy in need of
a disguise end up trapped in a Highland betrothal?
Bethea Glanville never imagined her name would become scandalously entangled with Camden Kennedy-a reckless, insufferably charming Highland rogue with a talent for turning her temper into wildfire. But when a farcical series of missteps lands them in an utterly compromising position, the only way to salvage her good name is to announce a betrothal to Camden-a man she barely tolerates.
A covert spy for the Crown, Camden has no interest in romance. His mission to catch a traitor must come first. But when Bethea is accidentally ensnared in the very danger he's trying to stop, offering the protection of marriage is the only honorable choice. She'll want an annulment as soon as the threat passes. And he's prepared to give it to her. Or so he believes.
Thrown together by circumstance, bound by duty, and haunted by a sizzling kiss neither expected nor can forget, Bethea and Camden must navigate secrets, suspicion, and a growing desire that could upend everything they thought they wanted.
When the stakes turn deadly and the line between pretense and passion blurs, will their accidental union become the greatest risk they've ever dared-or the only future worth fighting for?
To Marry A Highland Marauder is book seven in The Heart of A Scot series by Collette Cameron. I adored this book. When I picked up “To Marry A Highland Marauder,” I was so entranced, that the last thing I remember was seeing my digital clock read 4:11 A.M. I literally couldn’t put this book down and so lost track of time and read all night.
Hopefully, you are reading through this entire series. This book is Bethea Granville’s story whose guardian is the hero Keane Buchannan from To Defy A Highland Duke. A year after that story ends, Bethea attends the Earl of Monteith’s ball in Edinburgh and is doing all she can to avoid an odious and ultimately evil suitor. When she is caught overhearing a dangerous plot, she is knocked unconscious and bundled into a carriage. In steps the hero of this story to save her – Camden Kennedy – brawny Scottish marauder and spy. From the moment the rescue begins, the pace explodes into a thrilling, high-stakes adventure. Their unfolding romance is breathtakingly crafted. Cameron infuses hilarious moments and toe-curling romance. Her books just get better and better if that’s possible. I can’t wait to read the next in The Heart of A Scot series.
